Exploring the gospel principles of earth stewardship

A Most Delicious Commandment

“And again, verily I say unto you, all wholesome herbs God hath ordained for the constitution, nature, and use of man—  Every herb in the season thereof, and every fruit in the season thereof; all these to be used with prudence and thanksgiving.”

Doctrine and Covenants 89:10-11

Lately peaches seem to be “in the season thereof.”  I have been eating lots of them and it has been fantastic.  A sweet and juicy peach is worthy of thanksgiving.  I don’t mean to brag, but I’m really good at this commandment!

This week I bought a box of peaches at the orchard instead of going grocery shopping. The peaches have been great, but we ran out of milk. And butter. And buttermilk. Apparently we need a cow to go with our fruit trees that we’ve planted in our little yard.
