Every Good Tree: LDSES Fall Forum 2026

We are excited to announce our 2026 Fall Forum!

The theme of this year’s forum and art show Every Good Tree is derived from Matthew 7:17, which says “every good tree bringeth forth good fruit”. We will be exploring our spiritual and cultural relationship with trees through art and the written and spoken word, especially as it pertains to Latter-day Saint theology and history.

This event will be held in October in Utah with exact date and location TBA.

Art submissions are open now!  Selected works will be displayed in person, with additional submissions featured in a digital slideshow during the forum.

We will also be hosting our first-ever writing contest! Written submissions should also explore the theme of Every Good Tree. All genres are welcome: essays, personal narratives, poetry, reflections, or hybrid forms.

The Fall Forum, art exhibit, and writing contest are all part of a broader outreach program call The Our Trees Initiative which uses storytelling to promote tree conservation. We are excited to work with renowned tree ecologist Dr. Nalini Nadkarni on this project.

All art and writing submissions are due September 19, 2026.

Stay tuned for more details!
