About the 2026 Fall Forum
Latter-day Saint Earth Stewardship is pleased to present the 2026 Fall Forum, an evening of art, ideas, and conversation centered on caring for God’s creation.
This year’s theme, Every Good Tree, is inspired by Matthew 7:17: “Every good tree bringeth forth good fruit.” Through art, writing, and thoughtful discussion, we will explore the spiritual, cultural, and ecological significance of trees, with a special focus on their place in Latter-day Saint theology and history.
The forum will be held October 24, 2026 at Utah Valley University.
Art Show and Writing Contest
Artists and writers are invited to submit original works inspired by the Every Good Tree theme.
Selected artwork will be displayed during the forum, with additional submissions featured in a digital gallery. We are also excited to host our first ever writing contest. We welcome essays, personal narratives, poetry, reflections, and other creative works that explore the many meanings of trees, stewardship, and our relationship with the natural world.
All art and writing submissions are due September 19, 2026.
Part of the Our Trees Initiative
The Fall Forum, art exhibit, and writing contest are part of the Our Trees Initiative, an outreach project that uses storytelling to inspire tree conservation and deepen our connection to the natural world. We are honored to collaborate with renowned forest ecologist Dr. Nalini Nadkarni on this initiative.
Dr. Nalini Nadkarni is a renowned forest ecologist, National Geographic Explorer at Large, and Professor Emerita of Biology at the University of Utah. An internationally recognized expert on forest canopies, she has dedicated her career to advancing ecological research while inspiring diverse communities to care for the natural world through science, storytelling, art, and conservation. Her groundbreaking work has earned numerous honors, including a Guggenheim Fellowship and the AAAS Award for Public Engagement with Science.
