Peter Ashcroft, PhD  (Secretary) has consistently sought to inform policy decisions with the best analysis and science available. His professional work has included satellite remote sensing, serving in the Office of Senator Joseph Lieberman as the AAAS 2005 Revelle Global Stewardship Fellow, Environmental Defense Fund, the Utah Office of Energy Development, and WECC, the electric reliability organization for the Western Interconnection. He served on the Sierra Club Redwood Chapter board, and was a founder of Latter-day Saint Earth Stewardship, where he has served for many years. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Physics from Caltech, and a Doctorate in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University. Peter currently lives in Salt Lake City with his wife, where he enjoys hiking, climbing, and other outdoor pursuits.
